Adam Crum

About 

Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy (R) appointed Adam Crum as commissioner of Alaska’s Department of Revenue effective November 16, 2022. Prior to that, he served as commissioner of the state Department of Health and Social Services starting in 2018 and then as commissioner of health once the department split in 2022. In 2025, Oaks is serving as vice chair of the State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF)

A native of Alaska, Crum earned a BS in psychology from Northwestern University and an MS in public health from Johns Hopkins. Prior to public service, he worked in strategic management, organizational development, executive consulting, and as executive vice president of his family’s company, Northern Industrial Training.

Crum received SFOF’s 2024 Rising Star Award at its 2024 Investing in American Energy Summit.
