Dave Boliek

About

Dave Boliek assumed the position of state auditor in North Carolina on January 1, 2025. Within days, he emailed State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) CEO OJ Oleka to ask to become a member.

When Trump endorsed Boliek at an August 2024 rally, he boasted that the candidate had reportedly told him, “I’m only in politics for you, sir.”

North Carolina millionaire Art Pope donated multiple times to Boliek’s campaign. He is a member of the board of directors of the Bradley Foundation, a major funder of SFOF and its allies.

Prior to becoming auditor, Boliek was elected twice — in 2019 and 2023 — to serve on the University of North Carolina’s board of trustees. When he served as chair from 2022–23, he “led the fight at UNC to eliminate woke diversity and equity policies and create a new School of Civic Life and Leadership to help bring ideological balance to the notoriously liberal campus,” according to his campaign website.

Boliek holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA and JD from Campbell University, also in North Carolina.
