Dale Folwell has served as North Carolina’s state treasurer since 2017 and is next up for reelection in 2024. Previously, he served in the state’s House of Representatives from 2005–13 and was speaker pro tempore from 2011–13. As a state lawmaker, he was a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and active in the group’s Tax and Fiscal Policy task force.
From 2013–15, Folwell served as head of the state’s Division of Employment Security during the administration of Governor Pat McCrory (R).
