Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) reappointed Steve McCoy as state treasurer in June 2020, for a term ending in 2023.
McCoy previously served as state treasurer from 2011–19, and as director of the Office of Treasury & Fiscal Services (now the Office of the State Treasurer) from 1993–97. His experience in public finance and investments includes managing a Securities and Exchange Commission-registered investment advisory firm and serving as managing director of Lehman Brothers’ Public Finance Division.
McCoy earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Georgia State University.
