Robert Sprague

About 

Robert Sprague has served as Ohio’s treasurer of state since 2019, and having begun his second term in January 2023, is next up for reelection in 2026. 

Sprague first entered public service in his hometown of Findlay, Ohio, where he initially got involved in fiscal stewardship as the city auditor and treasurer, helping the town navigate the 2008 recession. H also worked as a project lead for the accounting firm Ernst & Young and ran his own consulting firm.

Before running for treasurer, Sprague served in Ohio’s House of Representatives from 2011–18. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA with an emphasis in finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
